Solutions Engineer
About the role
As a Solutions Engineer at Aabyss, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing and delivering
robust IT solutions that empower our clients to thrive in a modern digital landscape. The
ideal Solutions Engineer would have a wealth of experience and hold relevant certifications;
you will be looked to for technical guidance from most of the engineers across both the
Service Desk and Technical Services department, and be a key member of the team.
You will design solutions that not only meet client requirements but also align with Aabyss’
existing technology stack and standards to ensure the efficacy of our service desk for
ongoing support - providing long-term maintainability and a seamless client experience.
As a Solutions Engineer, you will report to the Technical Services Manager but will be
working closely with Account Managers/Client Success to ensure clients are presented with
solutions that are not only technically sound but also practical for long-term support. Your
role in the sales process includes:
• Engaging with clients: Participate in client discovery sessions to understand
business needs, technical requirements, and constraints.
• Designing Fit-for-Purpose Solutions: Propose solutions that align with client goals
while staying within Aabyss’s supported technology stack and the capabilities of the
service desk.
• Creating Clear Documentation: Produce Statements of Work (SoWs), technical
documentation, and network diagrams that help the team clearly communicate
the value and scope of proposed solutions.
• Demonstrating Value: Support the sales process with technical insights, product
demonstrations, and proof-of-concept setups when needed.
• Ensuring Deliverability: Validate that all proposed solutions are operationally viable
and maintainable by internal teams, reducing risk and ensuring client satisfaction.
You will also maintain a level of oversight of the project delivery process to either deliver
solely or support other team members to deliver the solution as designed to your
specifications.
This is a client-facing role that blends technical expertise with strategic thinking and
attention to detail, ideal for someone who thrives on solving problems and delivering
exceptional service in a fast-paced MSP environment.
Experience Requirements
• 5+ years of IT experience, ideally within an MSP environment.
• Strong knowledge of network fundamentals: firewalls, switches, wireless.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing IT transformation projects,
complete network refreshes or new location installations.
• Understanding of Microsoft’s “Modern Workplace” and how it can help businesses to
stay secure, and productive. Teams, SharePoint, M365, Intune, EntraID.
• Expertise in multiple technology domains: networking, security, cloud infrastructure,
hypervisors, backup & disaster recovery etc
• Commercially astute, with a strong understanding of technology’s impact on
business operations.
• Industry certifications obtained, or keen to obtain and maintain certified status
