Aabyss is a people company delivering business outcomes using technology and we are strengthening our technical project team. This role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated IT engineer to work within an award-winning IT managed services provider, and further complement our excellent team.


Responsibilities:

Project work consists of both on-site and off-site duties and will work closely with the Project Manager and report to the Service Delivery Manager. The key responsibility for Project Engineers is to undertake and deliver planned technical infrastructure project work up to hand-over to the Support team.

  • Deliver IT infrastructure projects for managed services clients including scoping, implementing and transition of change projects throughout the business.
  • Liaise with business, vendors, and other IT personnel for the progression of IT change projects.
  • Proactively and reactively resolve technical issues.
  • Record, track, and document the incident-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful choices made and actions taken, through to final deployment of change works.
  • Create and maintain knowledgebase articles.
  • Log work carried out against tasks and tickets in our PSA system.
  • Carry out work in accordance with company standards.
  • Document resolutions so that other members of the team can provide ongoing support.
  • Communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Research solutions through internal and external knowledge base as needed.
  • Escalate issues with documentation to suitable technical expert or vendor, when required.
  • Provide suggestions for continual improvement.
  • Analysis of change works to develop an organisational knowledge base.

Requirements

Skills / Experience Requirements:

To be successful in the Project Engineer role you will be required to have significant support desk or IT project experience; ideally be experienced in delivering projects, have a high technical ability and experience of 2nd/3rd line support.


Essential:

  • 2+ years’ experience as an Engineer providing IT support to SME’s.
  • Familiar with working to SLA’s to meet both customer and contract requirements.
  • Valid UK Driving License.
  • Must live in a commutable location to Liverpool L24.
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience in the following areas:
    • Microsoft Windows Server (2012/2016/2019).
    • WAN & LAN networking concepts including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS.
    • Key infrastructure platforms and tools: Active Directory, Azure AD.
    • Office 365 and Exchange Online.
    • Hyper-V.
    • PC / Server Hardware.
    • Firewalls.
    • NAS and Storage Technologies.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge, understanding and experience in the following areas:
    • VoIP Telephony.
    • Microsoft RDS.
    • Watchguard Firewalls and Wireless.
    • Datacentre hosting.
    • Cloud migrations.
    • Basic Linux administration.
    • Powershell.
  • Experience of supporting multi-site clients.


Qualifications / Education Requirements:

Desirable:

  • A-Level or Degree in relevant field
  • ICT qualification(s).
  • CompTIA Project+
  • ITIL v3/v4 Foundation.
  • Qualified to any of the following - MCSA: Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 or MCSA: Office365 or MCSA: Cloud Platform, CCNA (Switching and routing) - Data Centre Virtualization (VCP6.5-DCV)
